This Week in Photos

Emmy and I doing "homework" together.

Saturday morning the girls were  playing really well together. At one point I checked on them and found Emmy like this. Ellie had boxed her in with all of her favorite books and toys, she seemed happy enough!

Sunday morning we explored Dana Point and did a nice hike at the Dana Point Headlands Conservation Area. If they hadn't found the elusive Pacific Pocket Mouse living here in the 90's the area would have been developed.

Silly Smock

On Presidents Day, Darcy took the girls to the Silly Smock (Thank you Minnie and Ernie) for some arts and crafts.

Here is a random picture of Emmy showing us her stickers.

And a random picture of Ellie scraping carrots.

Anteaters vs Titans

This afternoon I took Ellie to catch the UC-Irvine Lady Anteaters (4-22) take on the Cal. State Lady Titans (3-24). Ellie did a good job watching the game and asking questions (and enjoying the snacks, cheerleaders, and band).

Ellie cheered really hard for the 'Eaters (in pink below) but they lost a hard fought game 66 to 53. It was Cal State's first win since  November 17th, 24 consecutive losses until today!!!

A long season for Peter the Anteater

After we got home Ellie was practicing her cheer routine with plastic bag pom poms. I guess the cheerleaders made a bigger impression than the basketball players.

Weekend Hike

It is February, 80 degrees and sunny so we did our best to try and be outdoors this weekend.

The highlight was probably going 10 minutes up the road to the Laguna Coast Wilderness area for a hike.

Eating outside.......... in February.

Ellie doing her best cowgirl pose.

The girls survey the land from a high point.

Trail Boss!!!

Some of the last remaining untouched coastal canyons in SoCal are here.

Making our way through the coastal sage scrub.

Saddleback Mountain off in the distance.

Ellie and Darcy making their way down a steep hill.

The hike must have worn everyone out! Next up - the Super Bowl.
