Go Ducks!!

Last night we made it to a Ducks game, a first for all of us, at the Honda Center in Anaheim! They beat the Capitals (the reigning Stanley Cup champs) 5 to 2. In addition they retired Scott Niedermayer jersey which was cool and their goalie Ryan Miller became the NHLs winningest US-born goalie. Plus our friends happend to be going to the game as well!

Had a great time. Would for sure go back.

Also, check out the Santa Anna river - we don't usually see it with that much water, or any water for that matter.

Recent comings and goings

Wow a busy month but finally have a few minutes to catch-up.

The big news here is all the rain we have had in the past 4 to 6 weeks.

Ellie also started softball a few weeks but with all the rain, games and practices have been inconsistent. We did get in one game a couple weeks ago which ended in a 3 to 3 tie. Ellie is on the Yellow eLEMONators team. I am actually helping out this year as an assistant coach, so far so good.

She is also doing a short winter soccer league which started in early January and ends in two weeks. Just games on Saturday but same story with the weather so there have been multiple rainouts.

Ellie is also selling girl scout cookies. Thanks for all the purchases, we have been busy filling (and eating) cookie orders in the evening.

Emily has been busy it seems going to birthday parties, one every weekend it seems. Her soccer is going to start-up in the next few weeks and Darcy is going to help coach that. We also have to get her enrolled in Kindergarten!!

Here are some pics. from the past few weeks. The first few are from Softball opening day a few weeks ago.  With me coaching it is hard to get pics.

Ellie getting some tips on the art of catching, she is 4th from the left (pink pants, black top).

Here we are at the soccer game today. It poured during the first half but the girls embraced it and had fun running through the puddles and getting muddy. By the end of the game it was sunny.

As if playing a soccer game in the cold rain wasn't enough Ellie begged and I relented to take her to an indoor gym where she could burn off more energy climbing, jumping, running etc.......

Here are a few from Emily's busy birthday party social scene. One with a puppy and baby bunny petting zoo theme the other with a princess theme.  I think that is a sleeping baby chihuahua in the top pic., Em was smitten.

Also, she still has a serious milky habit.........I'm telling her by kindergarten she needs to kick her addiction.

Given Emily's love of dogs these days I took her and a neighbor girl (and Ellie) to see a movie about a lost dog a week ago. Figured it is cheaper to go to see a movie about a dog then get a real one!

Somewhere in all that I turned 39 and found some time to nap on the couch, even if I am in a mermaid tail blanket, #girldad I guess!

Oh and all that rain that falls here falls as snow East of here.
