Wyatt Joins the Family

Well after literally YEARs of begging - the girls dreams came true and we got a dog. Cracks began to form several months ago when Darcy started to talk about getting a dog after the girls would go to bed. I knew it was only a matter of time and that I was fighting a loosing battle.

After a lot of research Darcy had gotten in touch with a poodle breeder (B Poddles - https://bpoodles.com)  and while I was in Asia on a b-trip the first week of Dec. she took a trip to look at a new litter of dogs, and fell in love with one.

When I returned we surprised the kids and drove down to pick him up. Upon hearing the surprise that we were getting a dog, Ellie shrieked with joy and then cried. Emily refused to believe us until we showed her the dog bowls, and leash, and the crate we had been hiding.  I still don't think they believed us until we jumped in the car and drove down to Valley Center (North East of San Diego) to pick up the dog.

He is a 2 month old Standard Parti Poodle. We named him Wyatt. The girls are smitten. I am coping.

Em, who says she wants to work with animals when she gets older, got really into the vet. visit!

Ellie's Birthday - 12

Holly smokes - Ellie turned 12 this year!! For her birthday she wanted to eat cheeseburgers with her friends, watch a movie, and hang out. So that is what we did! We took the girls to see Top Gun Maverick - it worked great b/c it has been out so long there was hardly anyone in the theatre with us.

The day before I had returned from a trip to Taiwan and Korea so I was a but wiped out but we made it work And Ellie had a blast.

Thanksgiving 2023

After a few days at the ranch we ventured down to Phoenix and spent the rest of T-giving with the Bradshaws. Great to see everyone, all the cousins, grandparents, aunt's / uncles, great grandma, uncles, aunts, and the cats!

While we were out there we were able to celebrate Minnie's 93rd Birthday!!

Turkey Trot

As in previous years (now 7 in a row!!) - we ran in the Anthem Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning. It's about 3.8 miles and is getting harder and harder for me to run.  This year Ellie and I were a pair. 3 minutes into the run and I couldn't even see her, she totally smoked me. Darcy ran with Emily. Emily was lacking in motivation the first couple miles but found her second wind in the last few miles......

Ellie probably finished in the top 10.
