SoCal Surprise

Exciting few days here as a few different events came together.  David and his family flew in and surprised Jeff as part of a belated 40th b-day celebration. Anne turned 8 and we also had Fathers Day. 


The Indianapolis gang enjoying some SoCal beach time. 

Friday we drove down to SD and spent a day at the Zoo. Jeff thought it would just be the OC Reifenberger's and was really surprised when David, Amy, Emerson, and Rhett showed up as 
well! 

Friday evening through Saturday afternoon Jeff, David and myself pealed off from the rest of the group and spent time downtime. The highlight was a three hour sailing excursion. Great time with my brothers just relaxing on a 40 foot Catalina Sloop with Captain John. 

At one point David took the wheel and almost crashed us into the USS Anchorage. Luckily Captain John sprung in to action and saved us from an incident with the Navy. 

After Sailing we all met up at Jeff's for dinner and to celebrate Anne's 8th B-day !

This may have been the exact moment Anne realized that somebody else (Emerson) had blown out her candle! 

Ellie always enjoys the rope swing in their backyard - until she gets a splinter!

On Sunday (fathers day) everyone came up to the OC to continue the party. It was hot so a great day to spend time at the pool!  

School Is Out!!!

Thursday was the last day of Kindergarden for Ellie. She did a great job this year - onward to first grade (and summer camp). 

Not technically the last day for Em but in the spirit we got a picture of her as well. I think she is posing like a butterfly to match her shirt. She is doing great in her pre-school class.

Memorial Weekend

Low key weekend over here. Gymnastics, shopping, manicures, standup paddle boarding, and more.

For our 8 year anniversary Darcy and I tried our hand at SUP (standup paddle boarding) in Dana Point. No sharks and I only fell in once. Here is to another 8 years + of more adventures. 

To the Beach!

It was hot out this weekend so we went to Baby Beach in Dana Point where there are little to no waves because of the marina.

It wore them out because after they zonked out in front of the TV. 

Also, Em is back in gymnastics!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there, especially ours! Relaxing morning with afternoon hike at Crystal Cove State Park Moro Kiosk. 

Recent Comings and Goings

Ellie's elementary school had a end of year fundraiser complete with all sorts of fun rides (and face painting). 

After a 6 month hiatus Emily begged and begged to be back in gymnastics! 

Ellie's spring soccer season ended. It sprinkled off and on during the last game so Emily sought shelter under her umbrella. 

Ellie started a two week intensive swim class (first day went great!) 

Jeff turned 40! so we celebrated in carlsbad

While I was gone

While I was gone Emily graduated from her tricycle to a bike with training wheels, Ellie learned to fly a kite, and Nano visited!
