Run Ellie Run

The 27th annual James Joyce 10K Ramble took place in Dedham this weekend. Since none of us can run 10K we opted for the accompanying 1 mile family fun run and the children's 50 yard dash.

Ellie with her friend Riley.

 Pre-race warm-ups:

Family Fun Run:

50 Yard Dash:
For her age group (girls 4 and under) Ellie won! There was a guy next to me who captured the whole thing on video. He was so impressed he turned to me and asked for my email so that he could send it to me as a keepsake. The video is pretty awesome but to large a file to post here.

Anyhow, here are the still shots. There were actually more runners than it appears below (many were out of the frame of my images).

We were so proud of her!

Here are a couple keepers of Emmy from the weekend. She can now say "apple", "hello", "bye bye", "Ellie", "Emmy".

Flying Solo

Darcy up and left me Thursday morning to spend a few relaxing days in San Diego with Jody, Amy and friends. Now she is off to Austin TX for a conference.

The girls have been keeping me busy but we survived the weekend.

We kicked it off by hitting up IHOP for dinner Friday where Emmy ate her weight in pancakes. Saturday I took them to Bass Pro Shop and Sunday to Wards Berry Farm ( a local farm / petting zoo). Just have to make it a few more days...

With all the stuffed animals and the giant fish tank, I refer to the Bass Pro Shop as a poor man's zoo. The kids love it, plus there is a nature walk around a cranberry bog out back.

Sunday we spent the morning visiting a local Farm. Ellie loves the playground, Emmy was nervous around the sheep and goats.

Finally, Ellie has mastered the horse swings.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter (and Passover) everyone.

The girls had two Easter egg hunts this weekend. The first, with her school friends at the park up the road on Saturday. It was very cold and windy.  The second, here at home on Sunday.

(Ellie is on the far left)

At home on Sunday.

Emmy was more interested in hunting Hobbes than the eggs. Ellie received some nail polish. Darcy painted her finger nails for the first time this weekend, she was thrilled.

Emmy is a crazy shopper, stay out of her way!

Mmmmm Spaghetti.

Oh, in case you our curious here are some pictures of the remaining snow piles. Almost there......

Ellie's Job Board / Harlem Globetrotter

Lots of fun this weekend.

Ellie really got into making her own job board, modeled after the one they have in her class. Other than me having to spell out the job descriptions, she did the whole project herself. Listed in blue are the jobs (Line Leader, Mat Helper, Lunch Helper, Chair Helper, Light Helper, and Calendar Helper). Listed in red are the names of her friends who are assigned to the indicated job. This entertained her for hours and Darcy and I were assigned to Mat Helper, whatever that means.

Emily did a ton of eating and growing over the weekend. Look how big she now looks.

For my birthday, Darcy got me and Ellie tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters, complete with a pre-game pass to meet the team and learn different tricks. It was awesome to get to walk on the court. Two words, Larry Legend!!

Court Side Seats at the Garden!

For the actual game we had to move back a few rows, but our seats were still great. Overall, I think Ellie enjoyed it. When we got home she wanted to "practice", so we worked on dribbling and passing for 5 minutes....... she also enjoyed the train ride and the snacks.

Weekend Highlights

The highlights from this weekend:

Knowledge Beginnings (our daycare) had their 16th birthday party on Friday. The girls had a great time dancing with their friends and showing off their moves.

Work kept me a bit latter than I expected but I made it just in time for a daddy daughter dance.

Sunday we went to brunch with some friends. We even managed to get the girls dressed up and snap a few pictures before we left.

Last weekend Emmy was giving her baby a bottle. This weekend she was feeding her stuffed animals Ritz cracker sleeves.
