Weekend Fun

What to do on a lazy August Saturday? Visit the local Bass Pro Shop, of course. An amazing assortment of stuffed animals, lots of camouflage and a decent aquarium stocked with lake fish. Ellie loved it.

Behind the Bass Pro Shop, there was a 0.5 mile nature trail through a cranberry bog. This part of Massachusetts has a lot of cranberry bogs (Ocean Spray is HQ not far from here).

After our fix of stuffed animals and camouflage, we stopped at Barnes and Noble for story time (Pete the Cat).

Later in the day, Ellie helped Darcy shell peas for a pasta salad.

Avery came over and together with Ellie they pretended to be packing for a very, very long trip (we think they were reenacting the packing scene prior to leaving for Myrtle Beach).

Ellie really likes to sit in the front seat as I move the car around in our driveway. Will have to save this for when she gets her drivers license.

Meanwhile, Emily turned 7 months earlier in the week. She had a fever mid-week but seems to be doing better now (although as I write this I hear her coughing away in the other room).

We also had some work done on our house. We had a guy put in a new fence out front, fix our front steps and re-anchor the railings, replace the crappy white aluminum around our front door. Our front entrance looks so much better now. He also replaced the hardware in our downstairs bathtub (not pictured).
