Nano Visits!

Mom did a 10 day SoCal tour staying first with the San Diego Reifenberger's to watch Owen for a few days. Next she drove up to the OC to help us (including an 8 hour stint with the girls while Darcy and I were house hunting).  She earned a Purple Star for her heroic actions.

A block away from our apartment is the Noguchi Garden, a 1.6-acre public sculpture garden by internationally acclaimed designer Isamu Naguchi. The garden consists of a series of landscapes that represent California.  (http://www.californiahomedesign.com/trending/2011/03/17/secret-noguchi-garden-costa-mesa)

We enjoyed exploring the garden. The girls especially enjoyed running under the giant Red Woods.

Today we kicked back and enjoyed going for a swim in our backyard.

Hello from Orange County California

Hello from California! Everything went very smooth last week and our flight on Friday was uneventful. We landed around 9:00 pm Pacific time, gathered our bags, picked up the rental and drove down to our apartment. About an hour after we arrived Hobbies was delivered.

A tired little pup.

Here are some pics. of our apartment complex.

Our first weekend here and nothing but rain. Everywhere we go historic weather seems to occur. A quote from an article I read at the Weather Channel "Many Southern California cities set all-time rainfall records for the month of July due to the unprecedented mid-summer rainfall, which one National Weather Service meteorologist called "super historic.".........At least it wasn't snow!

On Sunday Emmy, Ellie and I drove down to San Diego to see Jeff, Owen and my Mom. Along the way we stopped at a vista point to look at the ocean.

Signing Off From Boston

Well, I am officially signing off from Boston. The internets should be shut off tomorrow. Over the next two days the packers and movers will be here. Friday we catch a flight to the west coast.

Such great memories here. What an amazing ride.

I snapped these pics of the girls this morning.

One last final walk up to Paul Park.....it was a little rainy.

Until we meet again Boston, adios.

Now off to the OC for a new adventure...........

The Final Hurrah

On Saturday we had one final get together with all the great people we have been blessed to know during our 5 years here in Boston. Such awesome friends.

We rented out the Dedham Community House Gym, complete with a bouncy house and tons of gym toys. We also had a photo booth  so that people could take pictures that were placed into a scrapbook for us to keep. One of Darcy's co-workers brought some light fare for chow.

It was a bit chaotic but I did manage to get a few pictures.

A way to go but a good introduction to basketball for Emmy.

From Left to Right: Ashton, Isabella, Kellan, George, Ellie, Emily, Maggie, Avery, Riley, Brooke, Emily, Layla, Kaedon.

I was really proud of these two!

July 4th 2015

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We had an action packed long weekend.

On Friday we took a trip to Davis Farmland in Sterling with some friends. Fun Fact: Davis Farmland claims to have North America's largest collection of endangered livestock breeds. All sorts of endangered sheep, goats, cows, etc. from all over the world. They also have a killer splash pad.

Ellie and Riley brushing a rare breed of lama.

On a hayride.

At the splash pad, complete with slip and slide and foam pit!

On Saturday we visited some friends out in Marlborough.

And today we set up the water table and kitty pool and practiced being out in the sun to get ready for CA.

Oh and as a second child I secretly get a lot of joy in this picture. Oh the triumph of the younger sibling!
