And just like that we close the book on the 2018 Fall soccer season.
The Ponies finished strong with a win over the Princess Dolphins probably around 8 to 4ish. For whatever reason there were a lot of Pony tears today but they held it together enough for a win.
Em sat the first quarter and was absolutely distraught that the Princess Dolphins jumped out to an early 3 to 0 lead. Literally on the sidelines crying and between sobs asking over and over again "why are they scoring so many goals, why?"
Brilliant job by the coach to get Em and the rest of the Ponies refocused and motivated. They gained the momentum and never looked back.
Em came in and probably rattled off 5 or 6 straight goals and helped shore up the defense. You can see in the first 3 pics. how dire it was after that first quarter. The Ponies looked deflated and Em. was still crying but as I said they rallied back.
This might be my favorite picture of the season and really sums it up.
Em back on defense rallying her team to get into position.
So that is a wrap for the Ponies. I think they finished the season probably around 9 wins and 1 loss. Em had a blast and at least for this season was a total gammer.
In the second game the Mayhem went down 3 to 0 to finish the season with 2 wins and 7 losses. A tough and humbling season for Ellie but she hung in there for probably being one of the youngest girls out there.
She started at goalie and had 4 really good saves but let one get by. The rest of the game she played defense and mid-field.
They fought hard all season but just didn't have the horses to compete game in and game out.
After the season there was a ceromony, some speeches and each kid got a medal.
Well that is a wrap on the Fall 2018 soccer season! Looking forward to some down time going into the Holidays before we ramp up again.
