And like that Emily is now five. Four was great but I have high expectations for five. These days Emily is sweet but sassy, a little Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde going on in her. One minute she is snuggled up and the next she is fired-up about something.
One thing is for sure - she has a big heart and can show a lot of empathy for a five year old.

This year we were blessed to be able to celebrate down in San Diego and it just happened that David, Amy and baby Cora were visiting, so it was a family affair!
We spent the day hiking and hanging out. Thank you Aunty Jody for hosting all of us, it was great to see everyone!
After we got back from San Diego we opened up family gifts. Thank you everyone so much - Fingerlings, Barbies, craft activities, and LOL dolls seem to be the hot items these days.
Today, on the 20th, Em had a party at Pump It Up, an indoor bouncy house place with about 10 of her friends. She had a blast and it was fun for Darcy and I to interact with some of her friends from school and daycare who we do not see too often.
Well it has been fun but with Ellie's birthday, Chanukah, Christmas, and Emily's birthday all within a 5 week period we are now out of the present business for the next ~11 months (which is about what it take for me to recover).
Thanks again to all our wonderful friends and family who provide support and plenty of fun gifts!
