Ok apologies for the extended break. No excuse other than we have been really busy, primarily with softball. Both girls playing and with me coaching several teams means just about every night and weekend somebody has a practice or game somewhere.
On her rec. team, the Bullets, Ellie primarily played SS and First. On her Select team, the Lightning, she played SS. She had a great season made some great plays in the field and came up with some timely hits, including 3 HRs (or run homes as I call em sometimes) over the season.
Emily finished her first season of 8U and played up as technically she had another season of 6U but was def. ready to move up to a more advanced game. Emily also got some great hits throughout the season. But I was really proud of her for pitching. Its not easy but she did a great job. She also played a few innings at catcher and even threw a girl out trying to steal 3rd!
Here she is pitching:
Here she is behind the dish (i.e catching)
In one of our tournament games she was awarded player of the game for throwing out a girl stealing 3rd... you don't see that very often at 8U.
Hanging w/ softball friends
End of the season tournament we finished 3rd or 4th out of 6 teams and got a medal for our efforts.
