Hard to believe with most of the rest of the country under snow and ice that we enjoyed Opening Day this past weekend. Emily is on the Wrecking Balls and Ellie is on the Sandstorm.
Opening Day also happened to be on my Birthday - what greater B-day present than watching both girls play ball.
The best part is that Ellie made her pitching debut!! The Sandstorm were pretty far ahead of the other team so they brought in Ellie late in the game. I guess she did all right, considering she had never pitched before. The official stat line for her outing was 1.1 innings pitched, 52 total pitches (35% of which were strikes), gave up 2 hits, walked 6, and struck out 1.
I was coaching Emily's team who had a double header but between games I was able to take a peak for a few minutes! It was little hard to watch but I was def. proud of her.
Emily won both of her games and pitched well!
So a 3 win / 0 loss day where both girls pitched and got some good hits on my B-day is a pretty good birthday gift.
